ecoMOD4

ecoMOD is a research and design/build/evaluate project of the School of Architecture and the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia that aims to create a series of ecological, modular, and affordable house prototypes.

Our goal is to demonstrate the environmental and economic potential of prefabrication, and to challenge the modular and manufactured housing industry in the U.S. to explore this potential.

In 2011, the school received a grant to commercialize the ecoMOD4 design. There are now three different versions being constructed in Southwestern Virginia, all modified to be passive houses.

Scope:
Exterior Porch, Deck, + Cantilever Design
Landscape Design (collab. w/ MLA students)
